COLD AS ICE:VIKINGS VS BEARS

Railing from 2 consecutive losses, Brett Favre and his legion of purple and gold warriors are beginning to feel the cold. While they rest comfortably at 11-3, their foothold on a no. 2 seed in the NFC is slipping away. Not that Favre's fondness for throwing interceptions is the sole factor in this dip to mediocrity, other Vikings have had a hand in the teams recent demise. Yet, history speaks for itself and since 2005, Favre has notably dipped in accuracy and performance when the temperature drops and as the season neared the playoffs. Although struggling with Jay Cutler at the helm, the Chicago Bears have one chance to oust their NFC North rival and that is to pressure an already shaky 'Old Armslinger' into pass happy inferiority. Will the Bears manage to put the Vikings on ice or will the Vikings thaw out from a chilling losing streak?

Pacquiao-Mayweather Not Over Yet

Just when sensational reports were released doubting the likelihood of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight of the century will happen, breaking news speculates there is still hope. Pacquiao-Mayweather is NOT over yet folks or so it would seem. Rumors have been swirling that Pacquiao was refusing Olympic style drug testing due to his superstition involving drug testing up to 30 days before a match (See Manny Pacquiao Refuses Drug Testing). Various sources in the boxing world including Floyd Mayweather Sr. have openly accused Manny of partaking in the use of steroids/PEDS due to his historic climb to become one of the only champions to win across multiple classes.

The challenge has been accepted, the arena set, so what is posing a threat to the impending most anticipated showdown between two of boxing's greats? A simple drug test.

Breaking news coming from the Mayweather camp is that Manny strongly opposes the "Olympic-style" drug testing being requested by the Mayweather which involves drawing of blood to determine the presence steroids or other performance enhancement drugs before the fight. The reason Pacquiao is refusing to being subjected to a random blood test 30 days prior to the bout as mandated by the US Anti-Doping Agency.

ANTM Nik Pace Sues Braylon Edwards For Child Support

Heard one deadbeat dad story you've heard them. Nik Pace of America's Next Top Model fame doesn't think so. Her story is so profound that she is taking it to America's justice system in the name of a lawsuit for child support to the tune of $70,000 per month. Just who is the lucky defendant, New York Jets WR and new father, Braylon Edwards.

The newswire has been a buzz this year with Edwards deteriorating career as a Cleveland Brown, his notorious sucker punch to a certain Cleveland promoter and friend to another famous Cleveland resident (See Braylon Edwards Punches Lebron's Friend ), name changed to James to protect the innocent and last but not least, a whirlwind trade to the New York Jets. Now it seems Edwards has "dropped the ball" again by knocking up Pace who although he has known for a few years, never dated seriously.

And so the domino effect begins -- Tiger losing endorsements. Or so the media would have one believe. Captions reading Gatorade has dropped Tiger or ended their partnership have run rampant all day. The thing is, there is a big difference from losing an endorsement and having a product line dropped. Gatorade has no more released Tiger from his multi-million dollar contract than publishing house,Vantage Press has released the "World's Thinnest Book" entitled "Cheating For Dummies with Tiger Woods."

Approximately 1.3 million women and 835,000 men are physically assaulted by an intimate partner annually in the United States (Commission on Domestic Violence http://www.abanet.org/domviol/statistics.html).  A large percentage of those men and women are abused by their spouse. Believe it or not, evidence points to in the Woods' home e.g.golf clubs found at the scene, Tiger's busted lip and lacerations to the face, hundreds of dollars of cash on Tiger's person, late hours, mysteriously crashing vehicle with no signs of being under the influence, avoiding authorities for days and the half baked statement eventually offered up to law enforcement. Classic symptons involved with a person being abused attempting to cover for the abuser.

Domestic abuse is never funny and usually results in fatality. Luckily the only fatality that night was his car's rear windshield. SNL has a different take on the whole Tiger Woods domestic abuse speculation. Go ahead and laugh! You know you want to.

Kobe Banks Buzz Beater vs Miami Heat

Hate or love it, when Darth Kobe has the ball the balls gonna drop! In what had to be one of the best come from behind buzzer beaters of Kobe's career, Kobe launched the ball with less than 4 seconds left to go in a nail biter game against the Miami Heat last night and banked a circus trick shot only a former NBA MVP could sink. Prior to the shot the Lakers managed to battle their way within two after blowing a six point lead earlier in the quarter and after two free throws by Dwyane Wade, dished it to Derek Fisher for the clutch three bringing the score within one at 105-106 Miami. Shortly after, an inbound pass from Artest to Bryant over Dwyane Wade sealed the Heat's fate in what had to be a heart-breaking loss after a hard fought game. TIGER WOODS TO REVISE PRENUP; PAYS WIFE $5MILLION TO STAY

Since the lid has been blown off of Tiger Woods’ seemingly endless harem of women alleging extra marital trysts with the billionaire golfer, the infidelity scandal firestorm surrounding a once squeaky clean image of arguably the most well-known athlete in the world has taken a torpedo hit big enough to sink a fleet of Somali pirate ships! In a recent statement, Tiger apologized to his wife of five years, former Swedish model, Elin Nordegren for his “transgressions” and involvement in embarrassing their family and promised to be a “better man.” The two have since enrolled in what is reported as intensive marriage counseling to salvage their marriage according to the Chicago-Sun Times. Under normal circumstances, this would be stand up thing to do if the reconciliation didn’t reportedly involve a multi-million dollar pay off to the tune of $5 million Tiger Woods is shelling out to his wife to “stay with him.” Does Tiger have Kobe on speed dial?

PETA (People for Ethnical Treatment of Animals) has been known for its controversial, racy ads and even more notorious demonstrations to push its agenda against animal cruelty, sometimes enlisting celebrities and athletes to join its cause. This time the over the top social activist group has recruited Phoenis Suns player, Amare Stoudemire to drop his top for a new advertisement entitled, "Ink Not Mink." The campaign is aimed at celebrating one's own skin instead of rocking animal skin (furs).

It is arguably the "Game of the Year" and tonight its going down in the "Big Easy" as the former Superbowl Champion New England Patriots storm into New Orleans to take on the undefeated New Orleans Saints. The air is electric with anticipation of the Saints continuing their 10 win streak while the Patriots hope to seal their first road win of the season. Both teams are led by two of the most elite quarterbacks in the league and both lack on the run. With squads so evenly matched, the slight edge will go to the red zone offense that can not only push the ball down field but the red zone defense strong enough to enforce it.
